Имхо, единственная встретившаяся мне иноязычная версия гимна государства, так хорошо положенная на исходную музыку. А это что - нибудь да значит. Вообще, местами англицкий текст (не бейте сапогами!) мне кажется более удачнысм, чем русский. Особенно 2-й куплет, в нашей версии нет про уничтоженных захватчиков. :-)

Текст понравился ничуть не меньше русского оригинала. А исполнение то вообще выше всяческих похвал!!!!!

Вообще, переведенный текст получился даже лучше оригинала в чем-то. Что касается того, что либретто наивное- переводить дословно ни в коем случае нельзя! Переводить надо только в конкретном контексте. Это первое. Второе- если речь идет об английском языке, то ключевое слово здесь-полисемия, т.е многозначность слова. Таким образом одно и то же слово в разных контекстах может иметь диаметрально противоположные значения.

А ведь мы когда-то с ними были друзьями. Потрясающая композиция

Все же асли на русский переводить то другое произведение получится но и этот вариант класс! И империалистам так понятней! Тем более что гимн СССР должен быть понятен всем народам мира! Даешь перевод на остальные языки и такие же талантливые!
Жаль что потом мы слова изменили, а то со старым гимном мы бы в Холодной то выиграли! Но не все потеряно даешь старый гимн и Красную Армию которая как известно Всех Сильней! И ждем когда первый маршал в бой нас поведет!

Слышал что в своё время на западе были случаи, когда хоронили под советский гимн и красными знамёнами пока за приверженность к комунистическим идеям не стали преследовать. Интересно какой варианта тогда был. Хотя я думаю это был интернационал.

Послал файл заокеанским родичам. Получил ответ: Thanks for the Soviet National Anthem!!! Do you realize that Paul Robson, one of the greatest black-American singers ever, was vilified for singing that song. He was even run out of the US.

"won the cold war" :) sounds interesting. I wouldn't ever say about the winning the cold war. There is no Soviet Union now, of course. But there is no United States as the hope, wish and the guarantee of freedom anymore. No difference ever was between the tyranny of the Soviet Republics and United States.

Haha. By the way, even Obama and Medvedev are of the same strain - soft and insincere.
